MCA Last Semester How To ?

sir,i m mca 6th semester student and this sem is for project,i decided first learn about java than work on project because i dont know completly core java and advance java is null.
how it possible? Please give me a suggesion that how i spend my 5 month.

Vaibhav, just go through following points and I am sure you will have clear picture and a concrete plan for next 5 months:

(1)Make list of 10 Best companies, 10 Medium Companies, 10 Small companies who provide job for MCA/ IT/CSE students.See whether your are fit into their criteria or not ?

(2)Trust me Vaibhav, for any fresher graduate this is not at all necessary to get command on any technology rather you have to get command on CAMPUS PREPARATION, technologies are req. for people who are not fit into any one of above 30 comp. including big, medium and small.

So first you check whether u r fit into criteria for any of above 30 comp or not, if fit then prepare for campus prep. for that company, even if that comp. is not coming to your college , you can apply to that as fresher, and in IT industry even 1 year of hands on experience with a very small company also matters.

(3)So in these 5 months you first make sure that you are prepared for the first Aptitude round for any company , Then you prepare for Technical round-- that include all the questions that can be asked having seen your resume, so make sure whether you know whatever you type in your resume or not, lastly HR,PI questions.

Once you are done about above things then try to talk to some small institutes for ASP or JSP based Live Projects, don't stick to any language because this is not the time to think for what is you interest JAVA or ASP, because you are fresher, Once you start working with any company then only you can actually decide what is your interest.

This is the time to get prepared for Fresher round of interviews.

Don't do research just follow what I say, because दुनिया में दो तरीके के स्टुडेंट्स होते हैं , एक जो किसी अनुभवी कि बात मान लेते हैं और जल्दी से अपना एम प् लेते हैं, औए अपना एम पाने के बाद research करते हैं कि अब क्या किया जाये, जेब में पैसे आने के बाद कुछ भी करो research karo etc... फरक नहीं पड़ता,  दुसरे वो होते हैं जो ये सोचह ही नहीं पाते कि वो जो कर रहे है वो सही है या नहीं, भले ही कोई अनुभवी ही क्यों न बताये, ये बेचारे जिंदगी भर research करते रहते हैं और फिनाल्ली खुद का इंस्टिट्यूट खोल के बैठ जाते है और दुनिया को वही चीज सिखाते हैं जो उन्होएँ सही टाइम पे नहीं कि.अब आप देसिड़े करो आप कौन से टाइप के हो.

Sir I have done MCA in 2009.I am not confident of attending interview I get scared and avoid it.I am weak in programming how to improve my programming skills.Technology I know is .net please help me sir.

Dear Parag, for this kind of question I always give a very straight forward answer,

You must not think that what you can't do rather you must always think ,

what you need to do to achieve your AIM ?


means you should never think about what you can't do,even if that things come in your mind, just ignore them  like in your case you think that you can't attend interview because you feel less confident or you are poor at programming.Just don't think like this. You should think like , If I want Job Then I have To Have Confidence and I Have To Have Good Programming Skills.

Dear Parag I never answer questions like "I am feeling less confident" because this is not at all a problem , its like if you think that having food is your need then you never forget to have your food so please think like this way, you should think like this  "Getting a good job is my need and for this I will do anything even if I am not capable of doing it because it is my NEED."

This is a technique to train your mind to do whatever you think , just always ignore what you can't do and make plans for what you can do.

So here I can help you to make a concrete plan.Please read below points to understand what you can do:

(1) You are MCA fresher and great news for you is recession is getting over so you are going to get many job offers so not to worry about job offers.

(2) While going for the interview just stand in front of mirror and just abuse yourself with all the "Galis" you know like:

"Saale haramkhor agar interview dene me sharam aati hai to paida kyon hua, tujhe job chahiye to interview face kar confidently nahi to ja mara le bainchod"

Sorry for these words dear but we have to use strict words for our useless mind's thoughts which waste our time and makes us poor as compared to others.We need to have Army kind of discipline for our own mind.

Just Do Like It Parag , You Will never Regret Asking Me This Question.Just Abuse Yourself  Whenever It Force You To Think What You Can't Do.

(3) Parag just tell me do you feel less confident with your younger brother or sister, I am sure you have always felt confident with these people . Just think the same while attending interview, think like the interviewer is like your younger sister or brother,take deep breath and give your best shot.

Please write answer of following questions and daily give 10 min to loudly answer these questions in front of mirror or your friends.Remember you have to be louder and open your mouth as much as you can.Like you are shouting.
(a)Tell us something about yourself ?

(b) What are your hobbies ?
(c) What is your aim ?
(d) What are your weaknesses ?
(e) What is your plan for the next 5 years ?
(f) Why you want to join this company ? OR What you know about this company ?
(g) What is your salary expectations ?
(h) Why should I hire you ?

(5) Tips To Improve Programming Skills:

(a) If you faculty says you need to have strong logic or brain to do programming then just ignore them.
(b) For me students have never been wrong rather the faculties they are dealing with and the books they are following are bad , so never blame yourself for your failure because trust me dear parag  students are like kids , a faculty or teacher should change his or her teaching style to make students happy and successful in their studies.
(c) I am BE CSE and been with IT industry in Mumbai & Pune for approx. 5 years so I can tell you the fact that for having good programming skill, good brain is not at all a mandatory thing rather having a nice book from where interview questions are asked is mandatory thing. believe me I have discussed this with Infosis's technical interview head while working with Rungta Enginering College Bhila as a Training & Placement Executive that for freshers B.E CS/IT  or MCA only having command over Let Us C By Kanetkar is more than sufficient as far as technical interview is concerned.Just try to love this book and finish all its source codes exercises , if you need any reference book the you can buy CBSE boards Sumeeta Arora C++ to understand OOPS concept which is very important of verbal technical questions.If have interest in Java then you can read my post How To Prepare Java Interview Questions:

As you said your interest is .Net then I would say its really good subject as far as getting faster job is concerned.I would suggest you just buy following books for clearing technical interviews:

(a) .Net Interview questions By BPB publications, BPB publications shop is very closed to CST station Mumbai.
(b) PL/SQL interview questions By BPB publications.

See parag, I already told you in beginning what you have to think is what you should do to get job rather what you can't do so I am just telling you what you should do to get job: Please read below


(a) Prepare for Aptitude questions which are asked in every companies first round from R S Agrawal Aptitude book, don't waste your time on Abhijeet Guha or GRE Barrons or any other book for aptitude preparation, just complete R S Agrawal.You might feel boring with this book but dear that is what our bloody education system doing for whole 3-4 years of our graduation we are only taught about our syllabus and in campuses first round is Aptitude , so we can't change the system , of course we  will in future by becoming the part of system but for becoming the part of system we need to follow what system wants from us now.
Study this book (R S Agrawal ) in such a manner that you first complete all the examples of all the chapters and mark difficult questions, don't stuck, do a second round study and repeat the same process but now try to complete 50 % of exercise questions of all the chapters with marking hard questions and in last round complete left 50 % questions, I am sure in three round like this you will cover this book with confidence and self study.

(b) For Technical Interview just complete the above books (BPB publications interview books mentioned above ) and don't waste your time on thinking about having a live project because you are a fresher now.You just need to have command over your final year project, OOPS concept, Data structure basics, Let Us C source codes, basic Pl/SQL queries ,no need to have knowledge of any DBMS be it Oracle or SQL Server.

(c) For HR round just go through the basic questions I told you to write answers and read loudly daily above.

Dear Sunny,I will certainly tell you the the best PHP training institute in Delhi/NCR, this is what we don't do here, like we just not answer the question rather suggest you whether that is in favor of you or not ?

So for this question I would like to suggest you, please don't go for PHP training as now the main software development is around J2EE or .Net and XML.I have seen lot of my friends who were working in software companies but due to high demand and pressure of java and .net based projects they had to join .net or j2ee classes.

If you think that j2ee or .net is complex and PHP is easy then I would say, dear in this education system nothing is simple , our useless and money minded education departments have made education a very very hard thing to get.

If you have proper guidance then learning java and .net will be a fun for you, for example if you ask any one regarding best book for java then most of the people would suggest you "java complete reference by Herbert Schield" , but dear I tell you what we Indian people get is Indian edition of this book which is just a summary with lot of sensors.

On this post you will no where see above book, rather I have mentioned some other books which include one Indian writer's book, I ma sure you will love to learn java after reading these books.

If you have a different case that you know java and just want to learn another language then also I suggest you learn XML instead, get command over JSP ,try for SCJP certification, try to work on some Live Projects.means just try to get command over one technology, now the market is very competitive companies don't need you to have thoda-thoda knowledge , they want to now your interest and your expertise on any one technology, of course for clearing interviews you need to have basic knowledge of latest trends and technologies but somewhere they want to know your interests also, so you must try to get command over one, concentrating on one makes your life easier also, you feel confident.

One more thing, these people are good at their training but they all are business minded also, so beware , they will tell you to join various other courses, but please don't waste your money , like they will tell you to join sql server, oracle and c/c++ classes also, but trust me, you don't require  these, IT companies need you to have at least one interest.They have separate experts for separate branches like for database they will have oracle or sql server expert and so on.. means for a programmer data base connectivity and basic sql quesries are only needed not the whole Oracle or Sql Server package.

And regarding c/c++ , don't worry they can't start without teacjing you the basic of these languages with j2ee/net course, so here you can save your money. I really find these 2 hard to understand then I will suggest you two books for c/c++ which will also help you in IT companies technical and written interviews:

(1) Sumeeta Arora's C++ for CBSE Board 11th and 12th studenst.

(2) lest Us c (C++ not required) by kanetkar's exercises.

For Freshers:

(i) First you complete "Java For Beginners By Shirish Cahavn" by shroff publishers and distributors, this book is written by Mr. Chavan , I really loved to read his simple yet excellent way of teaching java.


(ii) Now you read "Head First Java" for Core Java  by O'reilley publications.An another excellent book written by creator of SCJP certification papers form Sun Micro Systems Inc.


(iii) Now complete "SCJP guide by Khalid Mughal", a very famous name among java lovers for clearing SCJP.

Dear Raghavendra, Its really very appreciable to see Indian students going for entrepreneurship in their early days of education, would that our youngsters  take serious interest towards politics also, then no one in this whole world will dare to stand in front of us, that's the power we the youngsters of India have.


Well let me come to your question: Please read my suggestions for you:


(a) First complete your MCA properly, 5 days in a week for your current work and just 1 day for the future projects including career planning, thinking for problems, taking tensions etc.


(b)If your financial background is good then it will be very easy to start a BPO business , but if not then you might face lot of problems , so be ready for each of this conditions and make up your mind.


(c)See, To start your BPO biz , you need clients and that to from outside India then only you will be in bigger profits, else you can start your biz with local companies also like mobile connection companies like idea, airtel, tata-indicom, vodafone etc.


(d)Now according to me you first search from where you can get clients, for this my suggestions will be as follows:


(i) Visit below sites and see the profile of people who take projects from outside and learn to make similar or better profile on these sites.

these two sites are well respected regarding getting projects from all over world, and they pay properly but for that you have to have good profile with excellent background, you have to show that you have that setup to complete their work, means "dikhawe pe saari duniya marti hai" type ka.its very simple , just see and study others who are working on the same field where you are interested with.



(ii)My second suggestion for you will be, try to visit Mumbai or Pune and join some local BPO companies who take outsourced projects and slowly learn with them how actually they operate.You do one thing just read Mumbai Mirror, or Mid-Day not online, you need to go to these places, to find out local call center jobs in these two big and emerging cities in India for BPO jobs, I am sure very soon you will be able to come to know How they operate? How they take projects ?


But make sure you join small BPO companies first then big BPO companies also like WIPRO, Infosys, Convergys , Mphasis etc.., because with local BPO's you will get ideas how they take projects from local companies and with international big BPO's you will be able to know about the international operations.


Dear Raghavendra, trust me you don't need to bother about any thing else on this question if you just follow above 4 suggestions, and in future M.P and C.G are going to be big markets for BPO's so all the best, but remember the success funda in life=> 5 days for current responsibility, 1 day for future plans, 1 day for fun with family.

Dear Gautam, you are doing MCA, which itself a very job oriented degree, don't listen to people who make you worried regarding your career,companies will never ask you to make a program or a software in the interview, please read below what a company needs from an MCA graduate ?

See, Gautam all my suggestions may seem very simple to you, but I have helped many with these simple suggestions only, If you want to still waste your time on search engines then its your wish.



(a)Try to get first division in your MCA.


(b) You must be having command over aptitude questions, so please complete R. S Agrawal for the aptitude round , which is the first round of any company.


(c) complete "Let Us C" by kanetkar for techincal written interview and have command over your project, ask yourself each and every question related with your project, Also read j2ee interview questions By BPB Publication(this book covers all the basics regarding OOPS concept, java, xml, sql queries), and .NET interview questions By BPB publication as this is your interest.Don't waste your time on any technology in detail rather have brief idea, definition, comparisons for all technologies as you are a fresher.

Trust me gautam , these four steps can guarantee your job in any top level software company, or government jobs like Bank PO, IT Officers in Banks.



Now lets come to your another question that was "project from delhi/noida.
plz tell me  from which company I should make  my project." & "any certified course?"

Trust me gautam, it might be very difficult for you to believe me but as a fresher you really don't need to do any certified course, your parents have already invested good amount on you, just show him that you can get job on the basis of your MCA degree only and trust me , if you really follow above four steps then you will never regret to ask me your doubt.


But if you still looking for any certified course then I will suggest you to do join NIIT Delhi or Noida for .Net as this is your interest. I don't trust the faculties from NIIT but they have got the huge market and placement tie-ups with all the major companies, so you will get .Net project with placement calls, yes their placement team is very active and dedicated, and please don't waste your time at NIIT for other courses as they may tell you to join data base courses with .Net, you just ask them for .NET live project and training  with placements.

No other institute will be suitable for you from Delhi and Noida , but if you don't like then can go to Hyderabad (Begumpet), this place was earlier very famous for software courses but not its not like that, but still this place is well respected for software projects given and trained by experts with very cheap cost and 24 hours lab facility for practice.

After learning .NET and having a good project if you want a certified course then you can go for The Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) online certification which enhances your skills , but again it requires money and devotion.

Again I am telling you, you really don't need all these things except above 4 steps, because once you joined a software company, you will have your own money, and companies offer you more better options for online certifications.
