 This book is one man army for CDS GK exam.You don't need to look for any other book except latest CSR current GK booklet for latest GK.

R. S Agarwal Quantitative Aptitude & verbal & non verbal reasoning books.

(3) English:

(a) If you are from hindi medium and looking for a nice book which explains you english grammar without any error in hindi then you buy:(I suggest these books for english medium students also.)

Tulsi Sahitya Publication's: "Hindi-English Master", "Art Of English Translation" & "Improve Your English".

(b) R S Agarwal's Objective English, Tata McGRAW Hill's Objective english for competitive Exams, Arihant English Grammar, English Improvement Course By Dhillan Group Of Publications.

Wren N Martin English grammar is a complete time waste, all the books who are written by foreign writer and come with "Indian edition" means you just think like they are cheating you.

I know I have suggested you many books for English but what I really can't tell you one best book for english, no one has written a perfect book ,and believe me these books won't cost you much money, what you do is  just decide a chapter and study for it from all these books and make notes, trust me you will have a perfect note which you can use for critical conditions for your life by teaching students or having your own book with a well known book publisher, and extra source of income.

These books will improve not only your grammar but your spoken english also.

Dear Abhigya to crack cdse gk we need to first know the syllabus of GK part of this exam so that we can decide what exactly we have to study and what not to study.


So the syllabus of CDSE GK is:

General knowledge including knowledge of current events, History & Geography  of India.
 
So now we will see how to prepare for above things, please read the below points to prepare for these things.

(1)Just go to any shop mostly on railway platforms book stalls and buy any book for  Current Events , I prefer CSR's GK include:Now we must know in current GK what all topics are must to be done, please read below :

Current Events material of any book you buy please make sure it includes these very important and always asked topics:

• Awards.
• Persons In News.
• Books & Writers
• Organizations Full Forms.
• Nuclear Deals 
• Cities or Countries In News (Ex. Mumbai Crisis )
• Indian Cabinet (Who is on Which Department.)
• Current Pariyojanayen In India (Sorry I don't recall its english name now)
  

So for current GK you make sure you are prepared on these topics.Here "Avards"  section is very Imp. and easy to score, like I would suggest you just go through some awards like:

• Nobel Awards: To Whom For What &  For Which Year.
  
• Man Booker Awards: To Whom For What &  For Which Year.
• Dada Saheb Phalke Award: To Whom For What &  For Which Year.
• Vyas Samman : To Whom For What &  For Which Year.
• Saraswati Samman: To Whom For What &  For Which Year. 
• National Film  Awards: To Whom For What &  For Which Year & At Which Place It Was Organized.
• Filmfare Awards: To Whom For What &  For Which Year & At Which Place It Was Organized.

 So these are the very important awards you must know.Rest of the above topics can easily be found in the book you will buy except persons , city , country in news because these books can't be updated daily so for this you will have to daily read news papers and watch any news channel prime time show.
